Margot and Tucupita Marcano instead of Hudson Potts. The Red Sox throw in Marcus Wilson OF to even it out. The RS don't need a third baseman, but a minor league second baseman may be valuable. Jake Cronenworth would be cannon fodder in Fenway. The Red Sox would dump Bradley and be under the luxury cap. The Padres don't like Myers. They would be giving up upper-level talent to make him disappear. The Red Sox need outfield, second base, and pitching need, so your trade helps all those areas. Believe in your trade idea.

NOTE: POTTS IS MERELY A SUBSTITUTE FOR MARGOT+CRONENWORTH. I could not complete this deal using those two, because of the "reality check". This idea is basically a summary of the most recent information given about a possible Betts deal. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that the Red Sox had "expressed notable interest" in No. 86 overall prospect Luis Campusano, a well-rounded catcher that looks to be a stud behind the plate. Acee also stated that the Padres were open to packaging one of either Josh Naylor and Manuel Margot along with either Joey Lucchesi or Cal Quantrill. I selected Margot and Lucchesi, as they have at least shown flashes of success at the MLB level. Hudson Potts will not be included in any real life deal, should one occur. His value is approximate to that of Margot+Jake Cronenworth, who was received from Tampa in the Tommy Pham trade. In this scenario, the $30M cash represents approximately 50% of the remaining salary on Wil Myers' $61M deal. Any feedback appreciated!

This feels close to me. If I'm Boston, based on that SDUT article, I think I'd prefer Naylor over Margot (Naylor more control and cheaper; Margot a little redundant on the roster currently), unless they the Red Sox have an opportunity to deal JBJ and his salary in a separate trade, in which case Margot makes sense. Boston also just re-signed Moreland; not a long-term issue with Naylor, but makes less sense in 2020 now. I also think, if a deal happens, that they'll come in under $30m for Myers' contract. I also dig the suggestion some have made about Boston getting SD's comp pick, especially since the Red Sox will probably lose draft picks once the cheating investigation is completed. Campusano would be the key get; just a matter of building up the rest of the deal.
