An interesting thought but just having fun. FWIW...Garrett put up 142 era+ in 56 innings last year and he has 4 yrs of control. Kolarek put up a 135 era+ and has 5 yrs of control. Certainly not saying Garrett isn’t better. Not at all. Just saying it wouldn’t be as big of a downgrade as some might think.

While garret is a big issue, Do not think the Reds would want to give up the 2 best pitching prospects. Plus LA always fleeces us in trade, or they do a much better job of training our former prospects. Cheers.

Not wanting to move both pitching prospects is certainly understandable. I thought about substituting India in for Greene. I like India and I think he’s athletic enough to be a multi positional player that teams value so much these days. The problem i have is that dodgers just added two 2019 1st rd college kids in Hoese(3B) and Busch(2B) and they already have Jeter Downs pegged for 2B so adding India might not provide the value to the dodgers that he would provide to other teams. Ultimately, my thought was that the reds rotation is set up pretty well for the future with Castillo, Gray, Miley & Mahle all under control for at least 3 more yrs and they would have 23m to spend in 2021 with bauer(17m) and desclafani(6m) coming off the books after this yr. They would also still have santilian in the organizational depth ready to potentially step into the rotation in late 2020 or 2021. Still, with all of that being said in support of the reds being able to survive moving both Lodolo and Greene...I still don’t think it would be very likely that they would do it. It’s just a tough thing to do. But just from a value standpoint...I certainly think the present value projected to be added by seager over 2 yrs(8-10+ WAR) and by Barnes over 2 yrs(2-4+ WAR) is more than worth 2 SP prospects and a slight(?) downgrade at LHRP that’s somewhat minimized by the extra year of control Kolarek offers.
