By dealing Hernandez, Toronto could slide either Pederson, Grichuk, or Fisher to the DH spot, with another one taking over the outfield spot. In this scenario, I would guess that Pederson would slide to RF, Fisher to CF, and Grichuk to DH. Miguel Hiraldo is several years away from the MLB, but the upside he possesses at the plate could make the wait worthwhile for the Dodgers. A versatile player, he can play both middle infield positions effectively, and with the recent departure of Jeter Downs, Hiraldo could replenish the middle infield prospect pool that the Dodgers recently tapped into. Sean Reid-Foley is a bit of an afterthought when it comes to the Blue Jays' young talent, but his appeal to the Dodgers should be nothing to ignore; with the departure of Stripling, Reid-Foley could take over the role of RHLR. If anything, his services would be less necessary due to the Dodgers' additions of Blake Treinen and Jimmy Nelson. The Dodgers' move to acquire Mookie Betts has one giant question mark looming over it: What happens when he becomes a free agent? By sacrificing a potentially expensive piece in Joc Pederson and an underused pitcher like Stripling for some solid pieces, the Dodgers can free up even more salary than they already have, and an extra $7-10 million dollars per year may be the difference between Mookie staying in Hollywood or hitting the open market.
