4Reds trade SP Castillo and 3B Suarez. They also unload the contracts of Moose and Castellanos, freeing up nearly $43 million in 2021 salary. Yankees trade SP Garcia and prospects SP Schmidt and OF Dominguez. Yankees take on the contracts of Inciarte and Moose. Braves trade SP Anderson and 3B Riley. They take on the contract of Castellanos. This trade serves to upgrade the Yankees SP situation, Braves 3B and provide a MLB ready replacement for trading Anderson. Reds free up a lot of payroll, acquire a young cheap SP alternative, 3B hold and top prospect. Lower level prospects round out the deal.
Yankees will not trade their top three prospects, including two pitchers that are expected to make an impact this season, AND take on salary to get Castillo. That would fill one hole, open 1-2 more holes, take them out of the LeMahieu running, and leave them little room financially to address the remaining holes.
No way the Braves move Ian Anderson. They have a glut of SP depth but that kid is the breakout of 2020 for that team. He's not going anywhere. Castellanos hasn't played 3B since 2017 and was AWFUL at it.
