I also don’t see this happening, but it is an interesting perspective if the Reds were so intent on offloading those two contracts. Trading Frazier would give Yankees a place for Castellanos to play, but Moustakas wouldn’t really have a spot to play. I do feel like Frazier + Schmidt + Peraza + Montgomery or Deivi is the most that Cashman and the Yankees will offer for Castillo. Since the Reds understandably want Gleyber or Dominguez, a deal likely will not happen anytime soon.

Yankees win by upgrading the SP rotation from Devi Garcia to Luis Castillo. Reds win by unloading contracts, and back filling the rotation with MLB ready players. I don't think this would happen, but I can see the Reds signing off on this, unfortunately.

I'm not a fan of salary dump trades where a really high value player is combined with a negative value player. It just dilutes the value of a Castillo too much. Better to pair a Moustakas with 2-3 prospects collectively worth 30M and get a 10M player back than pair him and Castellanos with Castillo and only get back 2/3 of Castillo's value.

A deal that sees Luis Castillo going to the Yankees has to include one of Gleyber Torres and or Jasson Dominguez as the primary returnee.. not little deivi.. The Reds, no doubt, have seen these "best fiscal interest" kinds of "helpful" deals w/ GM Krall concluding at MLB Trade Rumors that Luis Castillo will be in the starting rotation for the Cincinnati Reds in 2021.. Better deals are needed.. and they start with, for the NYY's Gleyber and/or Jasson..
