This would be a realistic trade for the Angels if they were to trade for Gray.

What happened to Sonny Gray's value here? This morning he was around a 35.8 or so. Now he's a 29.7? That seems like a steep drop. What factors could cause a player to lose 6 million in value in the same off-season? Did I miss any news of other major pitching contracts struck? Additionally no it would not be a realistic trade. No return MLB ready SP, the Reds would not do this deal.

We took out the additional 10% premium we had originally baked into his value prior to this offseason. Based on the market activity we're seeing, both in the trade market and the free agent market, good (but not great) starters are not quite commanding that additional $/WAR premium. It's not a steep drop in percentage terms.
