The Yankees get a Short Stop and solidify themselves as the best team in the AL. Frazier gets traded in a seperate trade for pitching depth. The rockies get 5 young prospects, headlined by Luis Gil. For anyone saying that the Rockies aren't getting enough, Story is a free agent at years end and there is no way the Yankees would give up Schmidt, especially because it would also take Andujar or more. Rockies not trading Trevor for a bunch of junk

JamesWillPeter

This is by no means a pile of junk, in fact, I would say that if this trade is made, the Rockies are winning it, because it is headlined by Luis Gil, who is the 5th ranked prospect in the Yankee's farm system, and the rest of the players are all top 30 prospects in the organization. The Rockies are getting what they need in pitching prospects, but they are also getting Story's future replacement, and an 18 year old outfield bat in Alcantara. Not only are they getting a haul of prospects ranging from decent to good, Story is also a free agent at seasons end. The Rockies don't have a great farm system as it is, and they don't have a championship roster either, so they might as well kick off the rebuild with a bang, kind of like the White Sox did.
