Like I said before, these players will break out and they have. I was right and the Sox could use these guys, heck, any team could.

This trade is actually very underrated for both sides, and down below I will explain why for both teams. Please comment down below and take time to read before voting dislike. Braves: They are getting Zack Collins, who not to long ago, was the White Sox first round pick, hoping that he would become a franchise catcher after letting Tyler Flowers walk. Things haven't gone his way for his career so far, and maybe catcher isn't his position. He did do well in Triple A Charlotte however, and former White Sox pitcher Dane Dunning used Collins sort of as a personal catcher. He still has 5 years of control and a ton of potential. He is MLB ready and can let Contreras develop a little longer, and can definitely slide over to backup 1st base if needed. White Sox: I think the White Sox are getting VERY underrated talent here. The Sox need a 5th starter and Newcomb initially doesn't seem like the answer, but after looking deeper, he has the potential to be very good. In 2019, his barrel% and hardhit% were both elite. While his fastball doesn't have the most movement or break to it, it doesn't get hit too hard, but that's not his good pitch, in fact, it's probably his 3rd best pitch, behind his curveball and slider. His curveball has very good break and movement, like a 12/6 curveball, and he gets an exceptional whiff% with it. His slider doesn't get as many whiffs, but it still produces many strikeouts, and it still has plus spin and movement on it. One concerning thing about Newcomb is his velocity. It went down with every pitch in 2020, standing out is the slider, which dropped 1.8 mph, which got hit harder, and he didn't get a single out with it. His changeup has never been good but in 2020 it was his best pitch in his limited playing time. If he can bring his velocity up, especially on his curveball and slider, then he will be a better pitcher like we saw in 2018 and 2019. He will also need to lower his walk rate, as he is allowing too many free passes. Besides the walks, he has very good percentile rankings in almost every other category and I believe that he could make a strong impact on the Sox. Huascar Ynoa is a young starting pitcher with 5 years of control still. He does need time to develop his pitches as they have below average spin rates and they've been hit hard as a result in the big leagues. His slider doesn't have great movement as well. I could see him as a relief pitcher in the future as he doesn't have a great 3rd pitch either.
