7It's a fair deal but I'm going to have to Down Vote. If the A's trade Chapman I don't want them to try and thread the needle, I want them to blow it all up.
I’m not going to try and make an impossible three way trade where the Braves get Chapman and Bogaerts this time. I’m just imagining what a Braves trade for Chapman could potentially look like. A’s want value and the Braves can afford to overpay. Fried immediately becomes the A’s ace and Riley immediately starts at third while Muller is almost ready at AAA. Muller throws 100 mph and is built like a tank so it should be sustainable. Braves get Chapman at third and Manea slots into the rotation which now looks like: Soroka, Morton, Anderson, Manea, Smyly/Wright/Wilson. I also had Ynoa (1.3) going to the A's in this trade but when I press submit it didn't show up for whatever reason. He's just a throw-in, but it might make a difference in your judgement of my potential trade.
Why include Manaea and Muller in this deal? It seems like you've pushed to get him in Atlanta's rotation twice now.
Because Manea has 2 years of control and Muller has 6+. Trying to make it more appealing for Oakland.
Bassitt vs. Manaea is mostly a push for the A's. I'd be fine with parting with Manaea... other A's fans would prefer to send Bassitt. I was just curious as to why Manaea was so important to your plan. The only real quibble is this costs Oakland another spot on the 40 man, a spot they'd have to create by waiving someone.
I get the appeal for Oakland. And I want to like Muller, I just need him to find the strike zone again. Riley/Fried for Chapman is a good offer that could tempt the A's. Manaea/Muller doesn't really add to the appeal as their values cancel each other out. What I'm asking is why Manaea to the Braves?
I picked Manea because he's better than Smyly/Wright/Wilson at the moment and I only want one of them occupying a spot in the rotation at a time once Soroka is ready. Would Bassitt for Muller be more appealing? He also has 2 years of control left and a similar value on the simulator, and he's older.
