6The Cubs need to get younger and shed payroll so they roll the dice on three young pitchers with a lot of potential. The Dodgers have an excess of talent that they can't utilize all at once and an unlimited budget. The Dodgers get one of the best pitchers in the NL over the last 8 years and improve at First base.
I can't see any way the Dodgers would even think about this. They don't get that much better at 1B plus Rizzo is more expensive and a FA after this year. They certainly don't need Hendricks and they lose two big pieces in their pen plus a very decent starter. It just wouldn't make any sense.
But Gonsolin just went on the IL with shoulder inflammation. The Cubs are going to want to see him healthy and pitching before trading away their stars.
Sorry I didn't know that. Knowing the Cubs that would not stop them. They would probably like it even more. They aren't the best.
