1This clearly looks like a Yankees' fan fantasy trade. The Nats get Schmidt who is 26 with a bad history of arm problems. He was just placed on the 60 day IL for the second time in two years. He many not pitch this year after missing all of last year too and his future is questionable at best. The Nats could do much, much better for Scherzer, even with his big contract. There just isn't much there for the Rockies to get even remotely excited about with the exception of Medina and he has severe control problems so his progress is certainly no sure thing. Volpe is just starting out after hitting .215 in rookie ball. Way was a 4th round pick who hasn't even started his career yet. Pereira has been in the minors since 2016 and is still in rookie ball. I would think if the Rockies get rid of Story they would be looking for a heck of a lot more in any trade.
