Teams like the Marlins just don't trade very good, cheap, controllable SPs. Pitchers like Rogers are extremely hard to come by. The pkg. offered isn't nealy strong enough to entice them into the deal. Biggio is decent, but the Marlins have Chisolm who they like a lot and who is playing at Biggio's level or better. They have no use for a backup catcher. Hiraldo is a nice prospect, but not nearly enough for the loss of Rogers.

Likely they might want different players but don't under sell Biggio who is a very high obp guy with a 114 ops+ so far in his career and is highly versatile and plays all over, no conflict with Jazz who I love as well. Marlins have no catching prospects and the Jay's have tons. Jansen is still considered a strong receiver and a starting catcher. His bat has disappointed which as a prospect was his calling card. Jay's have tons of IF prospects as well you could swap out.

I'm certainly not saying Biggio isn't a good player. Any team would love to have him and a very good prospect like Hiraldo. It's just that starting pitching is so tough to find, and when a team has a young and very controllable LHSP who is pitching so very well, they just don't want to part with them.
