OAK could bench Andrus move Jed to short and have Whit at second I know the prospects are a lot but for a guy like Whit with such a cheap contract and so much control he could be huge for OAK for the short and long term I know you guys don't want to give up Soderstrom but I want to remind you that he is blocked by Murphy

Jed at SS would be... bad... on a level usually reserved for the first 30 minutes of a Disney produced, youth-sports movie. And the Royals have shown no inclination of trading Merrifield.

Michael

or they could keep Andrus at short and anything can happpen if they are big sellers and Whit has been in the rumor mil for a year or two

The rumor mill has been teams asking if Merrifield is available and Dayton Moore saying "No". They control Merrifield for two more years after this season and I don't think they're going to switch gears this July. Maybe in the offseason.

Michael

yes that is more Likely but how do you feel about it for oakland

How would I feel about Merrifield to Oakland? Hell. No. He's 33 next year and is another RH bat in a line-up that needs more LH hitters. KC will want a LOT if/when they deal him and I think we've seen the best he has to offer.
