4Tigers look to sell high on a Rule 5 draft pick who played lights-out this year. Rays move strength pieces - bullpen, SS (hi, Franco!), and, importantly, move the Kiermaier contract. Kiermaier, even as he gets into his thirties, continues to play the kind of defense that would greatly help the young Tigers pitching staff as he patrols the vast Comerica Park outfield, however. The Rays add an outfielder to split with Margot in 2022 and a guy who would project to replace Wendle in 2023/2024 as he hits FA.

I don't think the Rays would be interested in swapping Jones for Baddoo. Baddoo isn't a great fit for the Rays this year, as they will be calling up top prospects J.Lowe and V.Brujan. Plus, for all the reasons you want to trade Baddoo, the Rays would be hesitant to acquire him. I could see Fairbanks and KK moved though.
That's fair. Honestly, I wanted to do this as a 3-team trade, but they're a lot less common than 2-team trades. I did resubmit with moving Baddoo to an outfield-needy team and moving a pitcher back to the Rays. Thanks for the comment!
