5I looked for a better 2nd piece to the A's than Rodriguez -- nice pitcher, but very injury prone -- but the Angels farm is weak with respect to high-minors prospects. And Adell to the A's only makes sense if they're doing a re-tool (shed some payroll and add ML-ready prospects to fill the gaps) rather than a rebuild.
Very nice trade. I'm a big fan of C-Rod and think he's the more difficult piece to move. When healthy he's nails. I think the A's do well here while helping the Angels win in 22.
IMO the fact that the As are letting manager & coaches leave is foreboding that budget cuts wlll be severe. So they're buy & SELL but focus on pre-Arb MLB-ready/experienced prospects w/ options. Holmes hasn't achieved his early potential but if his stuff is still intact, As will like him for .5 sv. I don't think OF is their priority need -- if they do this trade it will be late and better fits (young SP) never materialized. Personally, I'd shop Adell to CLE.
I don’t think it’s a great move I think the Angels should Hold on on Adell but if they where to move him this would be a good trade to do so.

I'd love that trade for Oakland. OF is definitely an area of concern for them. Their 40 man roster currently lists Luis Berrera, Skye Bolt, Seth Brown, Chad Pinder, Stephen Piscotty, and Cody Thomas as their OFs. There isn't a legit starting OF on that list. (Of course, Laureano will be back after the first month of the season.)
