5I keep sending Bryan Reynolds to the A's because you have some great TRADABLE pieces to get to Reynolds' 85. Boston also has the blue chip prospects that Pittsburgh would say yes to. Also, I think Reynolds' low salary, 4 years of control and ability to be extended would entice the A's.
Down vote for Oakland. Adding Reynolds to the A's, at the cost of Montas, Olson, Bassitt, quite literally turns the team into Pittsburgh West. What's the freaking point?
Laureno and Murphy have 4 years of control. Reynolds has 4 years of control and is better. Think it'd be a nice core to build around. 4 years is a long time.
Really don't think Billy Beane would see an advantage to trading 2 of his top 3 starters and Olson for *one guy* who can't play those positions. Moneyball means you don't put all your eggs in one basket, and Reynolds is one big f'ing egg.
Build with what? You've invested all the return in Reynolds and it'll be two years minimum before the A's are ready to even think of contending... just in time to trade Reynolds, Laureano, and Murphy for substantial value.
