Something crazy to solve the Twins starting pitching issues

Challenger

Your comment is accurate, but a start. Realistically, the Reds aren't trading Castillo unless you can blow them away with an offer. You can still strengthen the Twins starting pitcher needs with Sonny Gray. Then look to address Reds needs for a b/u catcher( preferably a LH hitter), a LHRP, and/or a MLB-ready OF who can play either CF or RF. Keep trying.

would you have interest in Kepler, he only plays RF since we have Buxton and he is on an affordable contract

Very interesting. Can you propose a trade?

The Reds are not going to deal Castillo and only get back Arraez, Gore and Martin. trod, please think about what the other team's needs are. You want the Red's Ace, but do not even propose a viable pitching replacement for Castillo. It does not need to be a pitcher of equal value but propose at least an innings eater. Gore is a prospect with possible upside if he can get back on track. The inclusion of Austin Martin entices the Reds. Arreaz DOES NOTHING for the Reds. Where would he play? Hassell, Weathers, Taylor Rodgers, Kepler would bring interest from the Reds side.

I agree, doofus. Well said. It seems there are a lot of fans of various teams who want to get Castillo (understandably), but don’t want to provide equal value. I could build a world eating team, if I could get great players without losing great players. It’s difficult to accept the other teams aren’t willing or able to make the trade. Hopefully there is a team out there that’s a good fit. Perhaps we need to check out some new trade partners. Luis Castillo and Jose Barrera are excellent trade bait. Keeping them isn’t the worst outcome.
