3I threw in Bride to even it out a little more and give the Braves an upper minors catcher since they are giving up Langeliers (Bride has been converting to catcher). If you wanted, you could just take out him and Wright. I liked including Wright in the deal though, as I think he could be the diamond in the rough in this deal. The A's get Sean Murphy 2.0, which makes him potentially tradeable in a year or so, possibly for a huge package. They also get an MLB ready starter and another solid SP prospect. Wright will also compete for the rotation.
Wright sucks. He's not a diamond in the rough, he's barely even carbon. I'd prefer a version that kept Bride in Oakland's system.
The reason I still had a little hope for him is because of his pedigree and that I saw reports at the end of year saying that they thought he was finding it. As I said, I'm perfectly fine with taking out Bride and Wright and still doing the deal. I like Bride a lot too. His potential conversion to catcher makes him really interesting.
