2LetsGoMetsLGM, Did you decide the Mets could use Gray and Suarez (you're probably right!) and then just add the numbers to get a close match on what you want to trade to the Reds? Okay for a starting point, but to get a legitimate trade, you need to at least try to address the needs of the Reds. They have good young starting pitchers, but lack OF's, 1 experienced relief pitcher who can get induce ground balls and have good strike out numbers, and they need an experienced (backup) catcher behind Stephenson who can at least hit his weight. I've thought about McNeil, but the Reds really need a CFer they can build around. I don't know if the Reds and Mets are a good trade match.
The Reds have Lodolo and Greene, but Peterson would provide solid depth and a solid young arm for an aging, oft-injured pitcher who is about to become a free agent. Vientos is the heir apparent to Votto, so he fits perfectly, and would do serious damage in your ballpark. The Mets have traded 3 CF prospects in the last 3 years. They are out. If the Reds have to have a CF in this deal, the Mets are not the best fit.
