2Disclaimer: Clearly not realistic, just a fun idea to get Ohtani and the guy he looked up to on the same team. Darvish and Caratini seem like a package deal, plus the Angels lack a back up catcher. Padres save upwards of $13M in salary over the next two years, and get a cheap, young backend starter in Suarez with 5 years of control. Placencia is a lottery ticket with upside.
Totally agree with you. Not realistic, but fun to imagine. I like this trade.
