Rangers continue their splashy offseason by dealing for Matt Olson. Including the Yankees allows them to send MLB ready pieces to clear room for Olson while meeting the A's needs of cutting payroll and rebuilding. Adding Olson is an obvious improvement both offensively and defensively for the Rangers. They also add Cortes, who could slot into the rotation or act as the long man out of the bullpen. The Yankees don't land Olson but they get a left handed bat that should thrive in Yankee Stadium. They also get their SS option to take over as Volpe develops in the minors. IKF adds improved defense and athleticism to the lineup, 2 offseason goals set by Cashman. The A's get 2 top 75 prospects for Olson and still have valuable pieces to shop around for more. Vanasco is the wild card coming back from TJ but could be a big part of the future A's bullpen if he's healthy.

Down vote for Oakland. Duran tanked when he got to Texas and I don't think he rebounds to his Yankee glory. Between him and Vanasco that's too much risk, not enough reward.
