5Dbacks need to blow it up, Guards and Rays need to go for it. Also Cleveland’s pitching labs can turn Weaver into an ace.
Brandon Lowe would have to play the OF for this to make any sense for the Guardians where he has only 39 starts in the majors. Still don't see Cleveland trading Ramirez.
Does Lowe have the arm to play 3B? If he can make that transition then sign me up. The other thing I'm unsure of is Weaver. I don't know what his potential is. Is there a better option for Cleveland than him in this deal?
Weaver is one of those guys who needs a change of scenery. FG mentions a while back that he gets killed by the Chase Field, and has the stuff that CLE could really coach up. Lowe can't play 3rd unfortunately - they would need to get creative, but this trade is about them improving both now and for the long haul.
That versatility gives Cleveland options, and that's probably where Lowe should be anyway.
