1This trade proposal came about with the Brewers needing a backup catcher and the Padres have depth at catching. However, the Padres would like to add OF depth and the Brewers don't want to trade Taylor. So, enter the Royals, a third team to provide the OF help the Padres need. Oliveres is having a great spring and is coming off a AAA season of .313/.397/.559 which included 12 home runs in only 67 games. KC gets a good pitching prospect in Kelly, a left-handed starter who should be ready in 2023. The Brewers get a good right-handed hitting catcher to pair with Navarez.
