Probably too much going on in this trade. Rays don't need a Hernandez type pitcher in their System and the Royals probably don't want White, who is recovering from TJS. Take those guys out and the trade makes more sense. From the Rays' standpoint, they might be interested in Taylor. KK is currently injured and while we think it's a minor injury, you never know with hip injuries. Even if KK is fine, the Rays lost Margot yesterday for an extended period and they don't have a good righty outfielder to replace him. Taylor to the Rays makes sense, both for this year and next year (when KK moves on). Kowar is the wildcard of the trade for me. If the Rays like him, then the trade makes a ton of sense. Rays are light on good RHRP right now, and they can always use good RHRP with options. The only problem with the revised trade is that Manzardo has looked great this year in his first full year of professional ball. Rays might not be willing to trade him. Plus, don't the Royals already have several top 1B prospects in their System? Why would they want Manzardo when the Rays have a ton of other good prospects to choose from?
