Spikes

I really enjoyed reviewing all of SATopel82's recent trade proposals. From a Brewer perspective I think they match what the Brewers are looking for regarding immediate and future help. It was tough for me to pick out my favorite and/or the most realistic trade. I guess I like this trade for Brian Reynolds because of his successes in multiple years and he still doesn't become a free agent till 2026. Brewers give up a lot to get him, but I think that's realistic considering the Pirates wanting to hold on to him. I also like the Garcia and Yazda trades. To me both of these trades weren't on my radar, but it gives the Brewers CF help without giving up top prospects. I tip my cap to SATopel82 for bringing up some good trade ideas to think about.

Correction on my previous comment. I meant to say getting Garcia and Yazda without giving up MULTIPLE top prospects.

Thank you! CF is the Brewers biggest offensive need right now. Tyrone Taylor is serviceable there, but he's currently hurt and for some reason doesn't hit well against lefties. I wanted to explore all the possibilities for the Brewers. The Reynolds deal would be a blockbuster, but I don't see the Brewers giving up all those prospects to a division rival. In my opinion, the Garcia trade or the Robles trade are the most likely. Garcia would become the everyday CF or Robles would be a platoon partner for Taylor. Unfortunately, I don't see the Brewers matching up for a marquee CF at this year's deadline, so they will have to settle for a lower cost option to plug a hole. Thanks again for your perspective and recognition!

Not only do the Brewers want to keep these prospects, but the Pirates also don't need them. They have an abundance of OF and middle infield prospects. They need pitchers & pitchers.

Totally agree. I don't see these two teams lining up on a Reynolds trade. The Brewers would have to give up way too much of their farm system and the Pirates probably don't want to move him.

It's going to be an interesting July to see what the teams do. I'm also wondering if the Cardinals are going to make a big push to improve. The competition to improve will be fierce among the teams with a playoff chance. Looking forward to it.
