2Pham and Drury have both been more than worth their appraised value. Drury will likely represent the Reds in the AS game. IMO, you are misreading Joey Votto's replacement after next year. Hopefully, Stephenson will move to 1B due to his history of concussions behind the plate. He is to valuable as a hitter to risk further injury. If the Reds are going to put all their eggs in one basket, it should be for a frontline catcher, IMO. For what it's worth...
I have no idea if Pham actually has any trade value at all. Maybe he’s more trouble than he’s worth but he has been good. Drury can play 1B or give Devers or Story a rest if need be. Castillo gives the RSox a 1-2 as they attempt to grab a wild card. I have no idea if the Reds would put all of their eggs in one basket for basically one prospect to take the reigns from Votto but maybe it’s worth the risk for the high upside. Murphy is just the Reds taking a flyer on a lefty, could probably swap him out for another pitching prospect but man do the Reds love getting southpaw prospects in trades - Finnegan, Lamb, Reed, Williamson just to name a few.
