4Can Sterns talk the Pirates into this trade. It's good for both teams if the Pirates rate the Brewer prospects and Ashby highly.
I see it the same way you do, but the Pirates have their own evaluation and have such a high price on Reynolds that I don't know what they think is enough to trade him. The proposal is sound and as a Brewer fan I think it's a fair trade.
Pirates get a Young lefty that's throwing 98 MPH sinkers, a 2nd Baseman in Turang to mix with Cruz and Hayes at SS and 3B and a Power bat/arm in Wiemer. Brewers get their starting CF and a fill in starting pitcher.
Maybe the Brewers throw a Joe Gray Jr. type (high upside) in to sweeten the pot. Not sure why the Pirates would say no. Ashby is a future frontend starter, Turang a Big League ready 2B/SS, and Wiemer maybe the best of the bunch.
