3Hancock, Kelenic and Arroyo, there is the MLB ready talent you speak of. Your proposal is very, very light to get Castillo.
Mariners get the impact pitching they're after as well as a rental infielder/ bat to help solidify their lineup for the playoff push. In return, the reds get a potential future #1 prospect in Arroyo, MLB-ready talent that can continue to develop in Toro and an upper-level outfield and pitching prospect.
Arroyo isn't close to MLB ready, was drafted last year, and while he's doing well in AA, likely has another year or so before he gets a call. Hancock is also at not making his debut until next year at the earliest. Kelenic and Hancock are both in super sell low conditions and I don't think they're part of a deal if it's not a Soto caliber, maybe they do end up going in for Castillo, but the M's have enough value in other pieces they shouldn't need to include more than 1 of them. Including Arroyo AND Kelenic or Hancock is an overpay for a year and a half of Castillo
