3For the Angles to trade Ohtani and not get (4) top prospects, and then to see two of the top guys go elsewhere in Gore or Abrams in the trade this is a massive no. Ohtani is a complicated beast, and I dont think the 107 value placed on him will be a fair comparison which make this difficult.
Angels have to see one offensive prospect coming to them, probably Abrams. They suck this year because of their hitting not their pitching. Lopez makes a lot of sense, but they have no offensive talent sniffing the majors in their farm system. If theyre trading one of their best hitters and their best pitcher in Ohtani, they need to get back a hitter and a pitcher.
I'd never trade Ohtani if Abrams is the main piece in the deal. I don't think he'll pan out, and I do think Perez and Lopez will pan out. But you're right, it's almost impossible to trade Ohtani.
