Zack Thompson gets stretched out and takes Quintana spot in the rotation. Thompson has been really good this season and is on a list of most velocity gained by a pitcher from last season(he was 4th on the list). J.Hicks can take Stratton’s spot in the backend of the bullpen or Pirates can continue trying him as a starter after stretching him back out. Loutos is another backend bullpen guy on the doorstep. He’s just 23 in AAA and has moved fast through the minors this season with good #’s. Gomes is a corner OF and he too is 23 years old and on the doorstep in AAA. 29 HRs this season(b/ween AA & AAA). High exit velos and bounced back from two poor season in a two in TB.
