5I would drive Matt Shaw to O'Hare myself to get this done
Interesting valuation of Shaw, and one of the few I’ve truly disagreed with. Feels like Early is undervalued here as well, leading to a huge gap between the valuations and expectations.
What are you basing that on?
My personal model that seems to weight MLB performance higher than here- Shaws BB/K ratio falling off a cliff in the show, power being non-existent, and seeming to show much of his success in the minors propped up by an unsustainable BABIP. Vs Early’s dominant cup of coffee, 11.5+ K/9 rate at every level, ability to keep the ball in the park, and generate 50%+ ground ball rates; despite a limited prospect pedigree.
Is Shaw that good? Seems like Early would be more than enough.
