4Let's get crazy!
It would take guts, but Preller probably would. Merrill would cover the lose of Canzone and Montes. Arroyo and Celesten are behind Emerson and Young. Rotation would still be strong with Woo, Gilbert, Miller, Castillo and Evans/ Hancock until Anderson is ready. Randy can move to DH. I've talked myself into liking this one. But, it could easily backfire
I'm intrigued by the idea of Preller trading Merrill, because his other options are so limited. That said, I'm not sure this is the right fit for Merrill, given that a chunk of his value comes from playing CF, and here he'd be switching to LF.
I think he plays RF, and potentially moves back to IF next season. But as an Ms fan I’d k far more concerned with RF than I am SP or IF at the moment.
