Twins need a closer. They get a familiar face. Rays could use an upgrade at catcher. Outfield thump added in Larnach. Could the Rays use a lefty power bat in him? Minor league shortstop prospect added to even out the deal.

Rays say no. They’re in full rebuild mode. They aren’t trading a high value asset like Jax primarily for guys with 1-2 years of control. Plus, the Rays outfield is jam packed. No room for Larnach.
