4Probably not enough for Kwan, but I'd agree to it.
Why, we don't need another SP right now more than we do Kwan...
I disagree. We lost Ortiz and that was a big blow to the rotation depth and quality of it. We have young OFers that need reps and could provide more offensive value than Kwan. Replacing his defense out there will be a challenge, but an extension agreement cannot be had. Trading Kwan is a smart business decision and it's not like you don't have a talented player to replace him with. The issue is that none of those talented replacements are proven.
Still looks like a bad decision to me... We would have one proven bat... Manzardo seems like he should be fine... the other 7 have either done nothing or completely unproven... Tong himself is unproven and looked bad his first few starts, he may not even make the rotation... Cleveland would have to get more back in this deal than just Tong... Mets position prospects haven't shown much... Cleveland would want Benge, Clifford or Jett Williams back with Tong, who is small for an SP and throws like Lincecum (Who once he lost any velocity, stopped being any good).
