I’ve never been high on Mauricio because of the suspect hit tool but if the Rays think he can handle 2B defensively then he may be worth a shot as a bridge to the next window of contention. Maybe he develops with more consistent playing time. But if Mauricio is a big part of the return for Diaz, the rest of the return better be a really good (and Wenninger doesn’t appear to have much upside). Santucci would be my preference because the Rays have no LHP in the minors but I also like D.Ross.
