Copen doesn’t appear to have the control to start but he has the stuff to be an elite closer. Rays should covet him. The Rays have more lefty outfielders than they can roster and will need to trade 2-3 guys. Mangum was their best outfielder last year, he hit nearly .300, and he is pre-arb for several more years, so of course he’s probably one of the guys getting traded. Mangum is too old to send down, so that shouldn’t be a consideration. I don’t want to trade him, particularly for the pocket lint valuation he has here, but it is becoming fairly obvious that Neander benefited from smarter guys who once upon a time reported to him and who are now running the front offices of other teams. Since the middle management of the RFO departed, the Rays have been making worse decisions and steadily getting worse (and their Farm is suffering despite all the trades). I’m steeling myself for another head-scratching, obviously bad offseason from the Rays. Trading Mangum to make room for the lesser and more expensive Jake Fraley is par for the course for the Rays current front office. Dodgers pick up a really good player here.

If TB was a contender I would want to keep Magnum cause he's a grinder and would be a really good 4th OF and pinch hitter/runner so he'd be a great fit in LA for that reason. The problem with his numbers IMO they're a little inflated cause he caught so many defenses sleeping on his speed so he got a lot of infield hits but I think his numbers come down now that the league has seen him more. I would love to get Copen but realistically I'd happy to get any starter from LAD, they have so many i don't see how they aren't having 40 man issues, Casparius, Hurt, Knack, Miller, Ryan, Sheehen, Stone, Wrobleski, etc.. are starters on the roster that aren't even in the rotation, lol once they get an OFer Ward might be moved and I'd love to get him too.
