💁🏼♀️ Monday Morning Madness. Breslow trades the farm, Rays give away their super stud 3B to a division rival, Breslow & company get Junior Caminero signed to a 15yr deal worth $400m before the end of spring training. Rays also receive a PTBNL, 18yr C Franklin Primera (not listed). 🥰 I know, I know, there’s no way the Rays would be willing to include Maykel Coret and it’s probably a deal breaker for them. ⚾️
Boston’s side of the trade is mostly good, not great players, with Witherspoon being the possible exception. JC is a potential prime R.Devers level player, and it’s much more likely than not that he is. Coret was the Rays top Int’l free agent last year. Rays aren’t getting enough for what they are giving up in my opinion, particularly to a division rival.

You laugh but there are a ton of $2MM prospects you could have chosen and no one would bat an eye. You chose the high upside teenager to goose the return for Boston, knowing if Coret busts it cost Boston only $2MM and if he works out he could be a top 100 prospect in a few years.
Absolutely, got to ask for the upside as the lottery ticket, you can’t knock me for that.
No, I don’t fault you. Unfortunately Boston is sending the Rays mostly low upside, fully valued guys. That’s why I don’t think it works.
