1I would be shocked if the Rays traded JC before his 4th or 5th year, and only then if they couldn’t reach an extension with him (which should be the priority). The only reason to trade him now is if the Rays think his breakout year is smoke and mirrors and he will turn into a turd next year. I doubt they believe that. And even if they did, I would hope they could do a lot better than this package of players for JC. No top 50 prospects. An overvalued headliner. An offense first catcher when the Rays prize defense in catchers. Two outfielders who don’t impress and Wiggins, who I really like. Sorry, but even if the Rays wanted to trade JC, this offer just isn’t getting it done (and I don’t think the Cubs can get it done with their Farm alone).
