3I think Schmitt's best position is 3B but Matt Chapman is probably sticking around for a while. Gelof is a change o' scenery candidate. What would be the Giants' priority if they made Schmitt available?
I think they would need a 2b. The Giants are in serious need of guys with lower k rates. To much swing and miss. How is Gelof in that regard?
He's a swing and a miss guy. But he's a good defensive 2B and has 20-20 potential... if he can get the swing & miss contained. The A's have Darell Hernaiz, he can control the swing and miss, but not a lot of impact in the bat. And at 0.8 BTV he'd be a light return. Max Schuemann had a 16% K-rate and is versatile enough to cover multiple spots.
