6I am calling this one right now. It will happen next week.
By the way, does LRP for Ben Briwn stand for “Long Relief Pitcher” or “Lefty Reluef Pitcher”. I hope it’s the former but I never saw that as a unique position. I suppose it has to be because Ben Brown is not left-handed. Or maybe he is, which is why he keeps getting lit up this year.
Pipedream. Will never happen for obvious reasons.
Care to elaborate?
Triantos was the best fit in this deal and also the least valuable. Cleveland doesn't need Brown, or should I say they don't need/want to sacrifice Clase for a package where Brown is the most valuable commodity in it. Cassie isn't a fit either. We have plenty of LHH OFers. Nothing in this deal would have helped Cleveland in the near term. If Clase were dealt it would have had to be an overpay based on the values here. On a side note, be glad the deal didn't happen since Clase may never pitch in MLB again. I hope that's not the case, but it is certainly a possibility.
Correct, it's the former. It's meant to represent those pitchers who are used either as back-end starters and/or long-relief arms.
