💁🏼‍♀️ Lowe was removed from Saturday's win over the Orioles after experiencing a flareup of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, though the injury is now being described as foot and ankle tendinitis. The second baseman was sent in for an MRI, though the severity of the injury isn't yet known. The often injured Lowe will be eligible to be reinstated next week, but it's unclear how long he's expected to be sidelined. 🤕

I’m torn by this trade. On the one hand, the Rays really struggle without B.Lowe. He’s the bat that makes their offense click and when he’s out or cold, the Rays win a lot less. So this trade would hurt both this year and next year (and maybe years beyond). That said, the Rays don’t look like a strong playoff team right now and I’m not expecting an aggressive deadline on the buy side (though maybe on the sell side). So with next year being the last year of B.Lowe’s deal, maybe now is the time to trade B.Lowe. Janek looks like a very promising catcher prospect, and that’s something the Rays need. What to do, what to do…

Yeah Lowe is always a big injury risk, something the Astros don't need any more of this year, but cementing the keystone for 1.5 years and getting that extra LH bat to hit anywhere from 1-6 in the lineup is worth it at this price. Janek is very promising, still 1-2 years away. As far as pitching, the Astros could throw in any of their farm system. They always develop useful back-end arms, the kind the Rays covet.
