2The Angels are the biggest fucking joke of a franchise to ever exist. Ryan Johnson pitched 10 games in A+ as a starter, was good, so what do they do? Jump AA, AAA, and convert him to relief at the big leagues. I'm not looking to sell Littell, but I am always looking for a sucker. The Angels can squint and see the post season, so they will buy at the deadline. They will overpay for a #4 starting pitcher on an expiring contract. And the Rays will happily take 2 promising pitching prospects, remove them from the Majors, and send them back to AA where they belong.
I wish I could say I disagree with you, but if any team might do something like that, it's the Angels. Rays need help in the Pen and can afford to trade Littell, so if the Angels are willing to send the Rays 2 pitchers with control for Littell, that works for me. Rays can then turn them both into SP next year if that's what they want to do (in the minors of course).
