6This trade means either Yandy or Aranda gets traded. I'd rather trade Aranda as we lack RH bats.
As for the A's, they are trading a 29 year old soon entering his decline phase. They are receiving a 23 year old, soon entering his peak phase.
I've considered this pairing as well. I'm on the fence on the trade, and would probably trade Diaz over Aranda. I'm apparently a lot higher on Aranda than you are.
I'm ready to outslug everybody. Rooker is my new LF. Mangum, Walls and Caballero off the bench will steal a jillion bags in crucial situations. Yandy gets traded this off-season, Rooker takes over for him. If the offer isn't there, Josh Lowe goes on the block. Aranda is a stud, but I can't trade Diaz for this valuation. I can trade Aranda for his though.
Flip side to that is, Rooker has established a much higher peak production than Bradley has.
Yes. He's also owed a lot more $, with his best days likely behind him. Bradley is a 23 year old with an AL Pitcher of the Month already under his belt. The A's are a few years away from competing. 34 year old Rooker won't be of any use to them when they are finally ready to compete.
