I can’t see Aranda being traded midseason unless the Rays continue pooping the bed. Unlike a trade of a pitcher, where the Rays have 2 extra SP, they really can’t afford to trade their best bat if they are serious about the post-season. That said, I like the trade for the offseason.

I worry about trading Aranda cause its so hard for TB to develop hitters but by next year we could have Ford at catcher, Williams at SS, Morales at 2B, and Simpson for now in CF, that's a really good young core, with Caminero at 3B and Isaac at 1B hopefully they just have to find more long term impact bats at the other positions and that starts looking like a cotender.

LOL... That won't be the lineup next year. Ford is ready at the plate, but he may be Keegan'esq behind the plate. Rays could force both to spend the entire year in AAA. Williams could be called up by June next year, but I doubt we see Isaac next year beyond a cup of coffee. Morales is 3-5 years away.

Shit I said Morales I meant Arroyo, he's already doing well at AA he might slip up to AAA this year so I could see him, Ford, and Williams making it to mlb next year, I have no idea why Isaac is still missing so many games but he could still end at AAA, I don't mean starting off in mlb but by the end of the year that being the core, plus you have to remember by next season TB will have new owners, a lot of things could change, lots of new people who may think differently then the current staff does, hopefully we get better scouting and health staff.

A lot of people are optimistic about the changes from new ownership. I'm actually afraid. Say what you will about Stu, but he has been a better owner than all but 2-3 owners based on on-field success. His off the field issues are the problem. Don't forget the looming 2027 lockout. That could delay a lot of promotions next year.
