This is a change-of-scenery trade for both teams. Both Eflin and Gallen are pending free agents having bad years. If either pitcher shows improvement before the deadline with their new team, they can be flipped again to a contender (assuming AZ decides to be sellers). The money going to AZ makes it essentially cash neutral.
