2I think we’re about to see some big overpays again this deadline and the Phillies minor leagues aren’t amazing. The club wants to hang onto their big pieces as tight as possible. Here they flip a high-performing AA OF in Mendez and two interesting arms near big league ready for a veteran right handed closer and a controllable middle reliever who can competently cover innings.
If the Phillies are holding on to their big pieces, they probably are talking to the Cardinals about Phil Maton rather than Ryan Helsley.
