I think he's a Marlin within the next two weeks. Bendix can't stop riding Neander's crotch. Made Tristan Gray his first FA signing. Brujan, XEdwards, Faucher, Cryin' Ronny, Heriberto...That dude gets a hard on everytime he checks Twitter and sees a Ray has been DFA'd. I would love to get my hands on Otto Lopez. Excellent defender, hits right-handed, speed and power. Would allow us to demote Walls, who I still believe is the best defensive SS I've seen in my life not named Andrelton, and the day he hits 90 wRC+ he gets MVP votes. I don't think Morel has any value to all but 3 teams. The Marlins, Rockies, and A's should all be willing to give up a decent reliever for him, with the hope he stops being fucking horrible. But that's it. What about you? Think he makes it to July as a Ray, and if not, is it the DFA or traded for ptbnl?
It's hard to trade a guy hitting well below the mendoza line and getting worse, and it's not like Morel is getting a ton of opportunities either. He had by far the fewest PAs in May among the outfielders (including Cabby). But if the Rays were going to release him, today was the day to do it, which makes me think they are actively shopping him and getting some interest. We will see.
Man, ain't that the truth. I about threw my phone out the window of the truck when I saw Simpson was getting sent to Durham. I bet another month in Durham turns him into a gold glove center fielder... ThAtLl dO iT! Simpson has a .318 BABIP and K's 10% of the time. That BABIP will get higher. Cherry picking for sure, but since June 11th, he's got a 119 wRC+, 7% k rate, with 12 SB in 58 PA. Take those SB and add em to his total bases, and he's king fucking stud dick. Dude was just starting to find himself.
Morel is the most wrong I've ever been on a player. I am so disappointed. I legitimately said he wasn't that far of a step down from Vladito when we got him. I am completely done with Morel. He is bad at everything, and I genuinely question if he has Parkinson's or is blind or something.
In your defense, you had no way of knowing he would morph from a 1ish WAR player into a -1 to -2 WAR player overnight. I certainly didn’t expect that.
The Paredes/Morel trade is fascinating to us at BTV because it was one of the first to ever be based entirely on super advanced metrics over on-field results. Since then, Paredes continues to produce and Morel has not, which makes the whole concept of basing trade value on the advanced stuff up for debate.

Ty Cummings is apparently a lights out reliever for us now. Little odd that they're going to fast track him to the majors, but I guess they think their bullpen needs it.
Interesting. I thought they were stretching him out to be a SP. No doubt the Pen needs help, but I don’t think Cummings will be the answer, at least this year. Wags, Reifert, Gervase and Gerber are the options this year, beyond Englert, Seabold and Krehbiel. I know he’s on IL right now, but I’m shocked Wags hasn’t been called up already.
