Cards add to high but injured pitching prospects for a top backup C and utility hitter

coach

I like that approach. All the players involved are quality players who legitimately meet needs. Trey Yeasavage is another young blue Jay stud to look at . Blue Jays will not likely want to hold onto Bichette, so they can also move him now for additional pieces. Let’s face it, Saggese is blocked and each year his value will depreciate or wetherholt gets closer. By Mid season, crooks can come up to assist with catching and may equal what pages is doing. You got my vote on both sides.

I should start with I don't know Yesavage much at all. He had the same value as Tiedemann and Tide's been hurt almost 2 years, I thought the Jays might prefer to ship Tiedemann out, maybe prospect fatigue? But I like your idea of Yesavage if the Jays would do it. I'm sure the Jays would like to trade Bichette, but I just can't see the value. The Cards' backup is a better defensive SS and BB is a 100 OPS+ hitter now, @ $17+M this year, FA in '26 so prolly wants a raise. Unless the Pirates want to trade Skeines for Masyn, I'll hold him.
