Beck is having a good year, but I don't see the logic for this trade. Rays have a surplus of outfielders they need to work through as is. Even if you assume Morel is good as gone, and Misner may have been a flash in the pan (boy is he a disappointment), that still leaves Simpson, J.Lowe, Deluca, Mangum and Palacios. I don't see Beck as being all that much better (if at all) over the Rays' current crop of outfielders.

Goodman is actually my main target in this deal trying to improve at catcher this year, I think its the system not the hitters but they aren't replacing that part so hopefully the new players can produce. The problem is they have a surplus but look at all their numbers versus Beck's, think of it this way if our OF was on the Rockies who would you want them to trade for to improve the roster? I think Simpson has earned CF and J Lowe should be on the roster but I feel he may be more closer to the '24 version than '23 which is still a good player but nothing special, Morel will stay cause the FO won't admit they're wrong, DeLuca is worrying me with the shoulder but is he a mlb starter or more of a 4th OF type, Misner is a heartbreaker cause we've seen what he could be but we're currently seeing what he probably is, Mangum had a hot streak but he's a 5th OF at best, and Palacios is a good role player but he shouldn't block anyone from the roster. But if we switched Rort for Goodman until the deadline and hopefully they find someone to take Jenson, and Mead for Beck (Caballero goes back to the infield) that "should" improve the offense pretty well, between Boyle and the off days it won't be hard to cover Pepoit's spot for now plus there's always McClanahan coming back eventually, Seymour, Orze and honestly I think TB could make Hill a good starter with his stuff and size.
