This is a Deadline trade and obviously would require the Dodgers starting pitcher corp to get worse before it would be considered by the Dodgers. However, if that were to happen, they might have some interest in trading for a young pitcher with 3.5 years of control who is having a breakout year in 2025. The cost is steep but doesn’t include any “can’t replace” players. The Rays get two cornerstone players for their next window, plus a former top pitcher recovering from TJS and a CB-A pick. Could be a huge haul by the Rays.

Do you view Rushing as a C or OF? I see him being a LF which I'm good with cause of his bat, I would almost prefer another player over the pick cause TB is so weird in the draft, sometimes they do great and next they pick guys like Santana or Pitre

I’m not sure what I see him as, but this trade only works if he’s a LHB catcher the Rays can pair with the RHB of Keegan. I have no interest in any failed catcher playing outfielder. I agree with your take on the Rays’ draft strategy.
